Registration – Johnson County Comets Track Club

The Johnson County Comets Track and Field Club, an AAU Affiliate, is excited to have you join the team for the 2024 track season. The program is open to all athletes ages 6-18 (as of December 31, 2024).

Season Fees :

- Full Season: $325 (each additional siblings $300)
- Partial Season (joining after June): $225
- Uniforms: $40 total for both competition tank top and shorts ($20 per item)

What’s included for each registered athlete:

- Monday/Tuesday/Thursday Practice starting April 15-July 23rd (42 practices total)
- Athlete’s AAU Membership to compete
- 3 developmental meets registration fees
- State meet registration fee
- Regional meet registration fee
- Comets Team T-shirt
- Junior Olympic T-shirt for athletes that qualify
- Fun team events throughout season (like Kona Ice practice and end of season picnic)

Additional fees are required for the Junior Olympics.

**Please note, after receiving your registration, an invoice will be sent by email, to the primary parent email address listed. This invoice can be paid by credit card or PayPal will be sent to the primary parental email address.

The following agreements must be agreed to for registration to be completed.
Consent to Treat*
We/I am aware that there is no obligation for any person to provide my child with medical care during training and/or event participation. If medical care is rendered to my child, I consent to that care if I am unable to give my consent in person for any reason at the time that the care is rendered. We/I understand that it is advisable to consult a physician prior to participating in athletics. I have consulted a physician prior to athletic participation, and I have taken the physician’s advice.

Waiver Agreement*
The undersigned states that he/she understand that Johnson County Comets Track Club is not and shall not be responsible for or liable for any illness, injury to person or damage to property resulting from the program – track club in which the undersigned is enrolling or from his/her participating in said program, and the undersigned, if the participant is a minor or under other legal disability, hereby forever releases and holds harmless the Johnson County Comets Track Club, its employees, coaches, agents, and representatives from any and all claims of any kinds that the participant, or the undersigned, or their respective heirs, executors, administrators, or assigns may have or claim to have resulting from participation in said program. We/I understand the importance of following instructions of coaches, club personnel, and officials regarding event techniques, training, and rules while participating in athletic activities. We/I understand that participation in athletic activities may involve risk of injury. We/I knowingly assume responsibility for any and all such risks and all such injuries. We/I do hereby voluntarily choose to participate in this sport and accept the risks as a condition of participation.

Registration Fee*

Code of Conduct*
The Johnson County Comets club is in place to promote a fun and safe environment. I understand that athletes are involved in this sport for their enjoyment. I will encourage my child and any other athlete to play by the rules and value sportsmanship. I understand that the organization is run by volunteers, and I will respect their efforts to teach the athletes. I understand that any concerns related to unsportsmanlike conduct could result in removal from an event or removal from the team.

Media Release*
I agree to allow photos or videos of my child(ren) to be used for the purpose of promoting the Johnson County Comets Track and Field Club. Photos and videos may be used on the Comets website, Region 16 website, AAU website, these organizations’ social media outlets, and for media coverage of the team. All other uses will be discussed with the parent(s) or guardian(s).
